The Tools Menu contains the following selections:
Builder Tools - opens the Builder Tools dialog, which serves as a standard tool box for accessing common build-related functions. NOTE: Recommended for Advanced Users ONLY.
Circuit Analysis Tools - opens the Circuit Analysis Tools dialog, which provides access to common circuit analysis functions.
Circuit Tools - opens the Circuit Tools dialog, which provides access to commonly used tools related to circuit display and review.
Planning Tool - launches the Project Planning tool, which allows user to initiate or continue circuit modification planning.
Schematic Control Tool - opens the Schematic Control Center dialog, which allows user to set display attributes for circuit components, set display status for entire circuits, and apply device restrictions for components during certain applications.
Loading Analysis - runs the Loading Analysis tool, which allows user to determine peak loading conditions for a circuit.
Transformer Loading Analysis - runs the Transformer Loading Analysis tool, which is primarily used to analyze distribution transformers' customer class loading variation with respect to time.
Reconstruction of Components - opens the Reconstruction Tool, which enables the user to redefine conductor component configuration down a lateral or within a defined section. It may also be used to reset distribution transformers to match operating voltage and tap connection.
Multipoint Lines & Cables Tools - launches the Multipoint Lines & Cables tool, allowing user to break existing multipoint runs into individual segments or combine existing segments into multipoint runs.
Reconductor - opens the Reconductor tool dialog, allowing user to define conductor wire changes for a lateral or identified section, beginning at the user-selected component.
Rephase - opens the RePhase tool dialog, allowing user to define phase transformations for a lateral run, beginning at the user-selected component.
Backfeed/Restore Component - initiates Pick operation for user to select a control breaker to backfeed or restore. Note: Only Control Breakers with a defined UID are valid for selection.
Fail/Restore Component - initiates Pick operation for component selection, then opens the Change Fail Status dialog, which allows user to directly control the Failure property settings of selected component.
Set Generic Turns Ratio - opens the Turns Ratio Tool dialog, where user can set the Turns Ratio to calculate Customer Level Voltage based on primary substation voltage.
Mark Component Impedances - runs tool that marks each component in system with manually entered impedance data.
Recorder - opens the Save and Play DEW Macros dialog, which allows user to record and playback updates to system model in sequential order.
Build
GIS Background - launches Windows Open
File dialog to open GIS
Master file, when applicable to build GIS background for the active
database.
