The Fail/Restore Component tool begins by initiating the Pick operation for component selection, then opens the Change Fail Status dialog, which allows user to directly control the Failure property settings of selected component.
Cmp Picked - displays the Type and Local Name of the selected component.
Status Change - displays the Current (Failure) Status for selected component and enables user to define a New Status, i.e. by selecting Failed Cmp / Phases.
Action - defines additional update actions associated with status change, i.e:
Update to New Status with No Action - changes state of selected component to new status, but does not make any isolation operational updates to system.
Fail and Isolate Cmp - updates to defined New failure state and operates available switching devices to isolate the failure from up and down stream components.
Write Kill Card - generates the Failure Isolation Operations report, summarizing system changes implemented to isolate the failed component.
Restore Cmp - restores a failed component to normal status (i.e. clears Failed flag) and returns system's isolation-effected components to conditional state before isolation operations occurred.
[Execute] - executes the defined update and exits dialog.
[Cancel] - exits dialog without executing update.
