System Viewer allows the user to generate and view schematic or skeleton
diagrams of the modeled system.
See System Viewer Setup for details on user input options for this application.
For general details on running an application, selecting and displaying output variables, see Running DEW Applications.
The Available Output for the application is described in the last section of this topic.
Schematic results for system may be displayed using a standard (orthogonal) perspective, a skeletal perspective, or from an individual supply/feeder perspective.
The schematic diagram consists of all substations, circuits, and feeders, along with selected (3-phase) component types of the model and the interconnecting conductors (i.e. lines & cables) required to connect the reduced component set.
Single and two phase components are not included in schematic diagrams.
Operational components can be operationally linked between the working model and the generated schematic, provided that they are identified with matching Unique Identifier (UID) fields, which allows user to control switch setting in both views from either view.
To assure operational consistency, before executing Schematic Viewer, user should run [Check/Set UID's] from Circuit Tools dialog to check for any duplicate or empty UID fields and assign values where necessary.
To prevent unintentional operation of a working model component from the schematic view, application sets the Locked Component flag on all schematic components. To operate from the schematic view, user must first clear the Lock setting.
Running the interactive System Viewer application opens the setup dialog, which is detailed in the System Viewer Setup topic. After setup parameters have been accepted and applicable schematics generated, the application opens the Navigator dialog.
For more details on utilizing the Navigator window to view schematics, see View menu's Schematic Navigator Window topic.
To display schematics, the application results in the DEW drawing window switching to the Schematic View, where the Navigator window allows user to select the desired schematic for review.
After review or exiting the Navigator
window, user may return to DEW system model by selecting Display
Geographical View from the View
menu.
Note: User may also toggle between Geographical
and Schematic views using keyboard
shortcut Shift-V.
System Viewer generates the various schematic diagrams and does not have any defined variables available for display. The diagrams generated and available for display are:
