The Feeder Performance application computes a modeled circuit's performance parameters over an entire year and saves the results to a spreadsheet (i.e. *.csv) file.
See Feeder Performance Setup for details on user input options for this application.
For general details on running an application, selecting and displaying output variables, see Running DEW Applications.
The Available Output for the application are described in the last section of this topic.
The Feeder Performance application produces a separate spreadsheet (*.csv) file for each circuit in the system, listing key circuit performance parameters for all time points (i.e. each hour of every day) setup to run. Results provided include:
Circuit Load, in kWH, gives the total circuit loading.
Circuit Losses, in kWH, gives the total losses in circuit.
LMP Value, in $/mWH, shows the applicable Locational Marginal Price for the associated circuit and time point.
Cost, in dollars, gives the cost impact of circuit losses for associated time point.
Circuit Efficiency, decimal format, gives the overall efficiency for circuit, calculated as Ckt. Load / (Ckt. Load + Ckt. Losses)
Power Factor (per A/B/C phase), in percent, gives the power factor for each phase of circuit.
Maximum Power Factor deviation, in percent, gives the worst performing phase's power factor deviation from unity (i.e. 100%).
Maximum Phase Imbalance, in Amps, gives the maximum imbalance calculated from power flow (for three-phase portion of circuit only).
Smallest 1-ph Capacity, in percent, gives the minimum available capacity from all single (and two) phase primary lines and cables in circuit.
Smallest 3-ph Capacity, in percent, gives the minimum available capacity from all three phase primary lines and cables in circuit.
Running the application initially opens the setup menu, where user Loads the applicable
LMP
files for the current run. (See Feeder Performance Setup
for details)
After user has accepted the (LMP)
files input with the OK
command, the analysis run proceeds.
Note: This analysis may require a relatively long runtime to complete
(i.e. 5-20 minutes),
depending on the circuits and time points being analyzed.
For this application, the Feeder Performance Report (i.e. spreadsheet) is generally used to review results per circuit for the system. The (*.csv) output files are written to the folder location defined for reports (*.REP). See the General API Options dialog for more information on output folder settings.
The user may then open the generated files (external
to DEW application) and use standard spreadsheet analysis tools to compile
statistical groupings and trend plots of interest.
Feeder Performance generates the selected circuits and summary spreadsheets and does not have any defined variables available for display. Efficiency and Loss (in Dollars per Hour) results for selected circuits may also be viewed using the Visualization tool.
